Lions, Tigers and Bears . . . Oh My!

It is allways fun to visit the zoo. Aaron, Audrey, and Faith are standing in front of the cage to the White Aligator or the "Ghost of the Bayou". This Black Bear was pacing back and forth. Logan liked watching the animals.
It is fun to have Teenage boys who enjoy showing the little kids the animals and they are great to help with their little sisters. Brady is showing Audrey the monkeys.
This Leopard was pacing back and forth in front of the window. It was really neat to be so close. It scared Kiersten when I put her up to the window to see the big cat. We went to the bird show. It was the same as last year, but it is fun to see the birds fly over our heads.
Audrey and I waiting for the bird show to start. Audrey had been sick all week and was still sick when we went to the zoo. I caught her bug Sunday and was sick all the next week.
Aaron was watching the Turkeys and other birds on the grass. The local birds were just as much fun as any of the more exotic animals, because they were often more animated. And, finally, you can't go to the Zoo without stopping for a while at the big ball and pushing it around for a while.

Cabellas

We went to Nephi's Baptism Friday night. Audrey and Aaron in the van. You can see the top of Faith's head. Kenzie, Kiersten and Logan were on the front bench. Brady was at a freinds, he did not come with us. We stopped by Cabella's on our way home and looked at the animals and fishes. Kiersten looks through the glass at the mountain and the stuffed animals on it. Jim, Aaron, Logan, Kiersten, Audrey, Faith, and Kenzie in front of the desert display.

Kenzie played the captain in the 6th grade play "Beauty and the Beast"Kiersten loved crawling up and down the stage steps during rehersal.
Kenzie dancing with one of the princesses in an opening scene.
Kenzies dance
Grandma and Kenzie after the play. I really enjoyed watching Kenzie perform and the kids did a really good job performing the play. There is a lot of talent in the 6th grade.

April Showers . . . Hail

This morning as the kids were getting ready for school, it began to hail. The kids ran outside to check it out. They had a lot of fun playing in it.

This is about how big it was.

Clear Creek

I got to go with Kenzie on his class field trip to Clear Creek. This is an overnight camp. Kenzie is disecting an owl pellet. The kids find the bones and assemble them on a paper.
The next activity was looking at pond scum through a microscope and finding organisms in it.
The activity I was over was spagetti towers. This is one I made. It is supposed to be a TeePee with a fire, two people and a dog inside. There was several feet of snow. it was really hard and had tunnels and holes dug in it that kids have been working on all winter. Kenzie spent most of his free time playing in the snow. There were caves in the snow. A group of kids jumped on the top of the caves and arches and they didn't budge. The snow was frozen solid and very compact.
The kids played many games. This is like blind man's bluff.

Sledding

January 2nd 2008

We took the kids to a golf course to go sledding. Aaron was a bit scared at first, but when it was time to go he did not want to stop.

Jim took Aaron and Audrey down the hill many times.
